Everything your company will need to perform
the Fort Pillow Massacre Stage Play

I recommend you begin by reading Appendix E – Playwright’s Notes.  This is an accumulation of Notes I jotted down as I was writing the stage play. Next, I recommend you begin reading the Director’s Copy. This also is a PDF document and can be downloaded, as are all the documents I will recommend you read. The Director’s Copy made reference to Appendix A – Creative License.  Read this to learn of the flexibility the director has built into the stage play structure.

Next Read Appendix B – Witnesses Roster, and Appendix C – Writers Roster.  These are the “Characters” in the play.  Next read Appendix D – Extra Dialogue This will give an idea of the dialogue.  For a much better taste of the play script, read Sample Script. The actual Script is 89 pages.

Lastly, if you want to know where the dialogue came from, you will need to read a copy of the Report of Committees published in 1864.  I have extracted the 128 pages of our Committee’s report.  I have split it up as the Summary, by the Chairman, and the Testimony collected. … Enjoy
